Breakfast Dishes - Fine Art Print (Low stock)
I loved making this piece, even if it took many many hours. It’s calming to look at for me. Originally I painted it as a portfolio piece for a graduate school application that I ended up not applying to. But I learned so much anyway! The assignment was a window scene still life—I painted it in watercolour and gouache, with a few coloured pencil details.
Early summer morning light streams through the window in my parents’ kitchen at their old house. Out the window you can see the garage, chicken coop, and kitchen garden, and forest beyond. Can you almost smell the dish soap? Notice the antique irons that used to belong to my great grandmother on the windowsill, as well.
I gave the original to my parents as a housewarming gift, but I am pleased with these reproductions. I’m keeping one for myself too! But I have a few extra for you also.
The image itself is 8” wide x 9.5” high mat opening, so you’ll need to get a mat specially cut, which you can then pop into a standard size frame. This can be done at your local art store quite easily; just ask a staff member to help you. This archival print ships in a plastic sleeve with a backing board. Shipping & handling is included.
